We are fortunate to have many and varied footpaths and walks in Horstead and Coltishall and nearby in the Norfolk Broads. Many of our guests and customers enjoy a walk before visiting us for a meal, drink or overnight stay.
Walks from our doorstep in Horstead and Coltishall.
Walk 1 is a gentle 30 minute stroll to Horstead Mill and Coltishall Lock. The photo above was taken on this walk.
Walk 2 is longer and follows the peaceful upper reaches of the River Bure, returning via the Bure Valley Railway path. It takes about 2 hours - a good way to work up an appetite for lunch! This walk is also a favourite with our dogs. *

Walks in the Norfolk Broads.
For serious walkers the long distance Weavers Way runs through The Broads. If a leisurely amble is more your style you will be spoilt for choice with a vast network of footpaths. Norfolk is also famous for its wildlife spotting opportunities. Broadland's rare species include the beautiful Swallowtail butterfly, the Norfolk Hawker dragonfly and, for birdwatchers, Bitterns and Cetti's Warbler. Further information on our Links page.
* We are a dog friendly pub and welcome well behaved dogs on leads in the bar or garden. Dogs are also welcome in some of our guest bedrooms. Please mention when booking if you are bringing a dog so that an appropriate table or room may be allocated.
